
Stop Replacing Your Whole Mirror Just Because a Heater Died
Here’s the problem with most mirror heaters: they’re built to be permanent. Which sounds great until five years go by, the humidity gets to them, and a heating element finally burns out. Then you’re stuck. You either have to rip the whole thing out of the wall or just buy a brand new mirror. It’s a total pain. We thought that was ridiculous, so we did something different.
Why we went modular
Instead of hard-wiring everything into the frame, we put the infrared tubes into their own little cassettes. Think of it like a plug-and-play system. If a tube stops working, you don’t have to spend your afternoon rewiring the unit or calling in a pro. You just pull out the old module and pop in a new one. It turns a project that used to take hours into something that takes a few minutes.
Heat that actually works
We use shortwave infrared because it clears fog fast. Since bathroom mirrors don’t give us much room to work with, we used high-density tubes. This keeps the whole setup slim without sacrificing the heat you need to actually see your reflection after a shower. One quick heads-up, though: these tubes gethot. If your mirror frame is made of plastic or some cheap composite, just make sure the mounting brackets leave enough of a gap. You don’t want your housing warping because it’s too close to the heat.
Built for the long haul
Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. Between the steam and the splashes, everything wants to rust. To fight that, we coated the connectors so they don’t corrode over time. And when it’s time to swap a tube? The modular clips do the heavy lifting. The new piece snaps exactly where the old one was. No fiddling with alignment, no swearing at a tight space, and no guesswork. You just swap it, flip the switch, and you’re back in business. It turns a disposable piece of hardware into something you can actually take care of.
